It's a hyacinth grown in water. The roots are already pretty long and I'd love to put it next to my pothos. I knew hyacinths are poisonous when eaten so I just wanna make sure we're good to go before adding it. (Not the fishtank behind it!! That one's out of service rn.)

NOOOOOO! It’s a literal bulb. They also need chill hours to even bloom. If you put this in your aquarium it will just rot

  2. Put it in your filter as if it were media, make sure the leaves aren’t in the water itself

i had one of these in my tank for several months with just the roots dipped in the water. i added it thinking it was dead but then it sprouted and bloomed again! snails and microfauna eventually ate 3/4 of the bulb though lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ i say go for it just only have the very tip where the roots come out touching the water
