I recently broke down my 40 gallon breeder and set up my old 29 gallon in its place. The previous tank had house plants hanging across the entirety of the back of the tank. I’m now trying to figure out a way to hang my plants in the 29gallon with considerably less space. I was thinking of replacing the glass hood with the grid top in the pic and cut squares out and insert the plants to suspend on the top of the tank. The 29 is planted, would it be smart to get lights that attach to inside of the rim of the tank to be sure my aquatic plants get adequate lighting?

Though not the best Hanging plants I always thought lucky bamboo looked great in aquariums
I have similar egg crate things. I’m using them like pictured. I spent some time researching plants that could have their roots submerged in water and there’s a decent list.
Pothos Lucky Bamboo Spider Plant Fittonia Peace Lily Monstera and more!
The plants pictured are Fittonia
