So this is my fourth betta fish and I haven’t had a long fin betta. Are his fins clamped? Or he is a veil tail? It didn’t say what betta he was when I got him.
He swims around sometimes. Mostly rests or something at the bottom of his tank next to the plants.
What should I do?

to me, it looks like its a mix of both. his fins may be slightly clamped, and he is also a veil tail.

mine is a male mermaid!
His fins look ok to me, if they look that all the time it could be he’s a little stressed but I think that’s normal if he’s still adjusting to his new environment

This is what my veiltail looks like when he’s not actively swimming but sometimes his fins will look more thin and closed up just depending on his position when he takes a break from swimming
