I just got this reel today, and I noticed a sound like the line or metal was lightly scraping on the right (handle) side. I opened it up to investigate, and when I turned the gear shaft, this small piece flew out.
Now I’m confused as hell about how it goes back together. I’ve looked at the schematic, and it looks like I reassembled it correctly, but I’m not 100% sure.
I also noticed that this piece either left an indentation in the black part above it, or that indentation is there by design—I can’t tell which. That’s what’s really throwing me off.
At this point, I’m just trying to figure out:
• Did I put this back together correctly?
• Is that indentation normal or a problem?
• Could this be the source of the scraping noise?
Any help from someone familiar with these reels would be appreciated.
