Not a fisher, but a lover of wildlife and volunteer at a wildlife rehab center who sees the direct impact of littering, especially fishing line, equipment made with lead, and hooks. Went to my local lake to watch the eagles, but spent the next 3 days picking up tons of discarded material for a couple of hours each day. It was only a small section of the lake so I feel like I didn’t even do anything.. This post isn’t for responsible fishermen who spend a lot of time picking up after others as well. This post is for careless people who need to find a better hobby.

Thank you !
Fishing for 39 years, it used to be better. So many spots shutdown because of garbage and disrespect. Thanks for putting a dent in it.
As a responsible fisher, I get really tired of cleaning up behind people who just don’t care about anyone except themselves and what they can take from the Earth. The free lures are nice and all, but really guys?
It’s like going to someone’s house and trashing it, repeatedly. It isn’t difficult to clean up after yourself. Take care of the Earth and the Earth will take care of us in return. Give and take, not take take take. Go in peace and hopefully the people who need to see this post, read and contribute to the solution.
Thank you for doing this! That’s what I have taught my daughter when fishing. Don’t be a pig and take care of these places so we can come back. I was so heartbroken on a windy day that my Styrofoam nightcrawler container blew away from me into the lake. I don’t know why seeing those nightcrawler containers on the ground bugs me more than anything else. At least I wasn’t just knowingly littering. It still bothers me to this day.
