I rescued my Beanies from a cup in August 1st, 2021 . He was a tiny guy, underweight and in stature. He wasn’t strikingly gorgeous betta either because the cup had robbed him of life.
Day one this dude had a glow up as his tail started showing red and blue stripes and the iridescence of his scales. His stark white face was slowly turning pink. Then as we played I noticed a lump at the base of his tail. I asked what it could be, only to have my worst fears confirmed, but I wanted him to have a wonderful life in the time he had left.
Butterbeans (Beanies) was a smart boy. He loved playing hide and seek and eating off my hand. But eventually I noticed the tumor getting bigger until he started slowing down and then dropsy set in. He passed away on his favorite rest spot tucked away in an almond leaf. I was there the entire time. I cried a little and buried him in the yard. I will miss him so much and don’t think another betta will come. I think it’s time this tank become home to some shrimp or pea puffers.💔
