You break it down or have a shorter rod? Anything inside the PVC now?
I did something similar to the expensive designs for on top of the vehicle. Ammo box, PVC & some tube insulation foam inside… but not to happy with the PIA of having to guide it carefully into the thinner foam hole. May try the rod sock idea.
