Hey Guys,
I’m thinking of getting this rod – 9’ Medium. Is this as bulky/heavy as the GX2. I’m gonna casting 1oz spoons mainly on it. Any advice/reviews??

I own a few of the ugly stik elites, definitely more sensitive and lighter than the gx2 line, fun rods to fish salmon and trout with, but at the end of the day they are still ugly stiks. Certainly not a bad option especially at the sale price. I run a 9’6” medium ugly stik carbon salmon/steelhead rod for tossing buzz bombs for salmon here in BC and it gets the job done.

I have the UL casting, admittedly far from what you’re asking about, but it’s a fucking garbage rod. The people that swear by their ugly sticks are missing out. Love my dock runner, everything else isn’t worth it to me.
