Hello friends. I'm about to get one of these kayaks in the picture. It goes by hammerhead kayaks in the USA I believe. It's a beast of a unit at 13 feet in length and 3.3feet width, comparable to a Hobie PA.
Is there anyone here running their kayaks with a gas outboard?
I do offshore fishing. My favorite spots are at 12 kilometers distance. I already have an inflatable boat and center console but I'd be thrilled to fish those spots on a kayak.
I guess my question is, can I safely put a small outboard in the back and switch to pedal drive once I got to my spot?
I also have 2 other smaller fishing kayaks, so there's no point in getting this unless I can motorize. I'm also not interested in electric outboards since I need to cover a big distance.

That’s not an offshore kayak. That’s a bass boat.
