I will be in Bali and potentially in Lombok/Gili Islands in February for 3 weeks and will bring a #7 and #8 weight rod.
Started to tie some flies already (see picture).
Not planning on catching monsters, but would happily catch bones, permit, barracuda, small bonitos, small GTs, small MahiMahi or whatever is working out on the light gear. I have very few experiences in warm saltwater, I know the Fish are explosive, I have lots of backing and high quality reels.
Any recommendations for fishing there? Would love to wadefish from shore, especially on the Gili Island Flats, not sure if allowed.
What flies should I bring? Is there any flyshop on Bali? Couldn't find anything.
