Any reason to not put my fish finder battery in the same battery box as my trolling motor. Separate batteries but same box.
I know using the same battery doesn't work but can they be this close? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Not a dumb question I would wanna know too, I was looking up whether or not they had to be different batteries some said it will add interference some say it won’t. Probably fine here as long as you wires aren’t touching a bunch? Idk. Hope you find you answer

I’m sure people can come up with tons of reasons but personally I’d run it.

That should not be a problem if you keep the wiring separated.

as long as there is a little room for swelling. Boats commonly stuff their multiple batteries in a shared, tight space.

I have both of my batteries in a 13×13 Blackpak.

Exactlly how I use mine. Drilled hole in box to run battery cables to fish finder

Do yourself a favor and make a spade terminal to connector pigtail. Then slobber hot glue over the terminals on the battery so they don’t loosen every time you remove them or worse still break off.

Its only gay if the batteries wires touch and then make eye contact

Notch the top of the box for the fish finder wires on the side so separate from the battery cables but plenty of freeboard above the bottom. Per above comment, leave room for some swelling.
