Broke the tip off my glx893c because I’m an idiot. Would it be worth throwing a new tip on it and calling it a 7’2, or should I cough up the $150 and send it in using the g loomis xpeditor program? I know it’ll change the action and I’m guessing it’ll probably lose some sensitivity. It feels wasteful to just trash it given that it’s relatively new, but I’m unsure if it’s realistically worth saving. Thoughts?

Cut just below the now last eye, get a eye kit and replace, it’ll just be shorter and have a little different action but not the end of the world

If it had to break anywhere, that would be perfect spot for it because it is right where a guide belongs and you arent losing a huge length. Carefully heat the wrap and remove that last running guide with razor blade. Be really careful not to scratch the blank up. Measure the new end of the blank and order an appropriate sized tip-top guide. Then glue the new tip top on, wrap with thread, and put the finish on.
