Honestly, i like the look
not a fan of how they are used/sold, much like goldfish, to unaware folk who dont know they got a little monster growing up in they 10 gallon tanks tho

For the longest time, angelfish.
I think I read as a kid that they would eat anything that fit in their mouths, including other fish. I didn’t realise at the time, that kind of applies to all fish. :p

I like all fish! Each one has its own little personality, and that’s what makes them unique and special to me…
Aesthetically though… I’d say fancy goldfish. They’re just so far removed from what a fish normally looks like. Especially telescopes, bubble eyes, ranchus… honestly, I kind of feel bad for them and their poor body builds.

my wife’s grandad had piranha when living in South Africa, never understood the appeal but the guy isn’t known for his kind nature, for me I’d say skirted tetra or widow tetra, they have moments when they make a red tail shark look placid

Any of the Malawi “peacock” Aulonocara that are speckled/blotchy. I think they’re really ugly/tacky.

I LOVE plecos. The dwarf breeds. I have a beautiful Rubber Lip Pleco that never grew past 4 inches, he mostly keeps to himself in a 35 gallon with some catfish.
