This is my samurai betta, Takeo! And this is the story of how I got my birthday fish.
It was my birthday, and I had plans for lunch with my mom. I arrived early, so I decided to kill time by browsing the PetSmart across the street from the restaurant. I already had fish tanks at home. I'm a sucker for a good ol' betta, so I love looking at those. This guy quickly caught my eye because it looked like he had scales growing over his eyes. I did research right there in the store, and I saw that he probably has diamond eye. I felt really bad for him, so I bought a tank for him right there and took him to lunch with me. He was an impromptu fish purchase, lol! I put him in a cycled tank when I got home and decorated his future tank. This is him today, six months later. I love my goofy little dude. He's so feisty!

Here’s Cookie Monster, because he’s living in a 3.5 gallon cookie jar. I planned on upgrading his space when I could afford it, but now that he’s got the start of diamond eye, and already seemed pretty happy in there, it’s going to remain his main living space ❤️
