So I bought a new rod to catfish with and need reel suggestions
Main use for the rod will be for channel cat fishing. I’ve never used a bait caster so I would prefer a budget/beginner friendly reel.
I normally use pflueger president reels if that helps at all.

Bass pro is selling the Abu Garcia Max 4 STX on clearance still for 50% off at $46, it’s an absolute steal. It’s more of a bass reel but it’ll do channel cats no problem.

You can prolly find a nice abu ambassadeur used for kinda cheap but they are not that beginner friendly.
