Picked up the last rod I was missing today(Glide bait). Now just need the snow/ice to melt. Targeting primarily bass across New England, but will chase pike when they're around, and even have a walleye spot. From top to bottom:
-Lew's SP on a St. Croix premier 6'6 medium. My BFS-ish rig. I got one SP for $65 brand new and won the other. I was going to sell this one until I saw some videos of folks using it for BFS so decided to keep. Haven't had the chance to fish yet, but it tosses that tiny shimano crankbait around the yard well enough. I may buy a true BFS rod, but gonna fish this combo a bit first as it's 1 of 2 rods from my late grandfather's garage.
-Johnny Morris Platinum spinner on a 6'6 medium Carbonlite(another inherited rod). As much as I love my baitcasters this is going to be a finesse workhorse throwing wacky, neko and ned rigs. Not a big drop shot guy, but of(when) i get my jon boat i may dabble more. Lots of cool JDM stuff to throw with this.
-Shimano SLX DC XT on a Zodias 7'2 medium/moderate. This is the workhorse. If I can only grab one rod it's gonna be this one. Primarily jerkbaits and my bread and butter weightless senkos.
-Another Lew's SP on a 7' MH St. Croix premier rod. This is to do what the reel is made to do – skip and pitch. Aside from that I think it's a great versatile setup, and will see a lot of different things.
-Shimano Curado 150 MGL on a 7'1 Johnny Morris Platinum Heavy. This sees a lot of frogs, but is the workorse for anything 3/4-1 1/2 ounce.
-Finally a Johnny Morris Signature reel on a Carbonlite Tech Glide Bait rod. Have had the reel for a while, but picked up the rod today for <100. I'm new to glides and looking forward to learning!

Not a BPS/Johnny Morris superfan by any means, but sometimes the deals are just too good to pass up!

Tell me about your braided line. Do you use liters at the end? Im thinking about making the switch.

  2. Nice setups!!

As of now I have a 7ft medium rod with a SLX dc Shimano
A 7ft medium heavy rod with a Tatula sv tw daiwa
    A 7ft medium heavy rod with a cc80 daiwa.
A 7ft medium rod spinning setup

    What I’m missing is
A bfs setup and a frog heavy setup.

Going to sell my second MH rod and buy a medium 6’6 and pair it with the cc80

Love it dude! I didn’t realize there was a Zodias 7’2” medium moderate, I would’ve eaten that up!!! How’s that SLX DC XT? I’ve heard nothing but great things about them, I just don’t know enough about it.

I’m jelly but not hating. I’ve yet to buy my first baitcaster. Congrats on the nice line up my dude.
