I got this custom rod of facebook marketplace under the reel seat is just pure rod and I don’t really like it. How would you handle putting on a full cushion on this part of the rod or something like my other rods if it’s even possible lmk.

Im sure you could buy eva foam meant for fishing rods and the same with cork but you can also use tennis or hockey tape
What’s the point of a custom rod if you didn’t get what you wanted?
Buy a split rear grip and a butt.

Most the time you need a reamer but you may be able to sweat them on without one. Do you have a digital caliper? Would be handy. Then just call the guys at Mud Hole, let them know your measurement and they can help you from there. They’re super helpful.
Also, guys and gals over at r/rodbuilding may be able to shed some light as well.
Wrap with paracord and use shrink tubing.
