Recently bought a classic oldschool lemonade jar (around 8 gallons) and turned it into a low tech setup. I have a couple other normal tanks wich I run "succesfull" and I was curious about experimenting with Walstad and such. So I setup the soil, added some hardscape and I let that run for a couple of weeks to soak the wood etc.

A week a go I added plants and I just found these "sprites "(?) drifting from the surface down into the tank.

The only tech about this jar is the light, there's no co2 injection, no heater and no pump. I don't have a testkit right now to check the values. But can someone enlighten me what it could be? My first guess is some biofilm like substance, but without one small biofilm spot on the surface theres nothing else. There is no current in the jar so it moves really really slowly.

I'm not worried that much, just curious. I guess it'll disappear when I add animals in a month or two.

Sorry for the bad pics btw, these are the most accurate ones I could take since it's a jar.
