I've always loved how much more natural the tanks look when it's in sunlight.
The fish also shine, and my blue tetras get to show off their blue stripe better in sunlight.

My entire house is windows, so it’s impossible to NOT keep them in sunlight, and yeah… the changing light throughout the day is amazing.

But it also causes some algae, but luckily, I like natural tanks more than “clean” ones.

On bright days, half of my tank is in sunlight for about an hour. I don’t get algae because it’s too short. But I get to see my fish in their natural colour and it’s amazing. Bolivian rams are just rainbows. And runny nose tetra has purple scales, they shine. ✨

I’m waiting for summer , it’s currently 20f , -6.67c , they currently are enjoying grow lights :/ . Gotta keep my plants happy too.
