I have a ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 4600 C thats old but basically in new condition just some paint scuffs, but it’s making a screeching sound every cast. I tried taking it apart, there was a piece of fishing line broken off inside, took that out, it still makes that noise. And yes, I know it sounds like it’s trying its hardest to be a Shimano Curado DC, and I’m fine with one or two jokes on that, but please comment with helpful comments.

Also, I forgot to mention, it’s the “High Speed” variant of the Ambassadeur 4600 C.
The grease has probably just dried on the plates in the drag. That can happen even on new reels that haven’t been used much. Take it apart carefully and clean the old grease off and put a new light coat on the inside.
