Started bass fishing last year, started on this Lews Combo and it’s been solid. Walmart clearance had me give in and get my first baitcaster (Shimano SLX 150hg for $45) paired it with a 7” MH Falcon Altrax. Which now has me wanting to change up my spinning reel. So wondering if this is an upgrade, if so I’ll take rod recommendations for it around $80 preferably or less. Or should I just save up my money and get something else. Thanks in advance.

Yes. By a lot. The Nexave is a great reel.
As for a rod, the Daiwa Aird-X and Shimano Sellus are good options under $80
