i can't believe i caught this on video, i was not expecting this to happen! what am i supposed to do with this behavior??? when the snail isn't moving, my betta is perfectly fine with having him in his space, but once the snail begins to move, buu swims up to it and watches him closely for minutes like shown in this video.

what do i do!!??? šŸ˜­šŸ˜­šŸ’”

    It’s normal. Betta observing. It’s very stimulating for them to see something moving and just… watch. Assuming that is a mystery snail and your tank IS big enough, it MIGHT give 1-2 test nips once-in-a-while, but mystery snails are absolute tanks, so they should be fine/

    I was told to stay away from mystery snails as bettas can and often do attack their antennae. While some bettas might be okay with their snails, IMO if this behavior repeats or continues it’s not at all fair to the snail and one or the other should be moved or rehomed. Even if serious damage doesnt occur, being attacked like that must be so stressful for them šŸ’”
