So I bought 2000m of 80# braid. I have no clue what to do with it so I cut it down to 10cm pieces, tied it in a wrap, then fed it around the back trouble hook of this monstrosity… which i also bought for God only knows what reason…

I see no reason why this wouldn’t work tbh. I caught a couple fish on a cutting of my own hair tied with 20lb braid to a size 8 J hook when I was a kid at summer camp. Couldn’t leave to go to the tackle shop so we made it work lol.
