Betta Fish: This is Shriek. My first Betta

I have had him for around a month and a half, and had a 65ltr tank too himself. I tried some of my cherry shrimp, but he purposely waited until I sat infront of the tank before showing me he eats shrimp. I tried some male guppies, but they kept nipping him, so they where taken straight out, but then I tried a female without a very bright tail, and he seemed to not like her at first. Thankfully she had plenty of hiding spots. An hour went by and then they where just ignoring eachother. So I added 2 more of the same colour guppies, he didn't care. So another 2 went in. Now they are all friends. He flares at them when there in his way, but no nipping, no hiding, no dramas.
Ps then I got two khuli loaches and they are fucking cool as so in they went. Should I try some more fish friends? Or am I pushing the limits?
