Long story but shitty roommate bought 3 bettas for 3 kids for some reason and did no research. They all had 2.5 gallon tanks with nothing but colored gravel, a hang on back filter, and a shitty decoration. No heater, no water changes, no checking the water even. Still working on eventually changing all tanks to natural everything. They're all in 10 gallons with sponge filters and airstones, heaters, driftwood, live plants, and much better food.
