In Tennessee, they are pretty regular. I check the night before, at the tuck, and at noon on the water.

The Tennessee Valley Authority manages the dams in the mid-south. They have a pretty good app that details the releases. They also have a phone line you can call in. Maybe the govt authority that oversees dams in your area has something similar. The army corp of engineers is another resource.
