I got my betta about 2 months ago and recently realised there's different types but the shop i got him from didnt say so i was wondering if anyone here knows, btw the shots are quite deceiving about the tank size, this is the corner he rests in and feeds in so its higher than the rest of the tank, hes in a 10 gallon with cherry shrimp

Definitely a half moon. As far as fins go. I would say he’s got dragon genes? Judging by the outlining of each scale. Here’s a pic of my giant dragon to compare scales to.

Ik it’s really hard to tell because he’s so dark. But he’s got a silver lining around each scale that defines it. You can slightly see it near his back.
I am in no way an expert in this area as I just recently started looking after a betta myself, but that second picture looks like he has raised scales which could be a sign of illness/stress, worse case dropsy.
Might want to test your water parameters.
