I wanted to share some pictures of my beautiful bettas who have crossed the rainbow bridge. I came home tonight and Rocket (first picture) had finally passed of old age after a few days of lying at the bottom of the tank and not eating. I was planning on euthanizing him tonight if he wasn’t any better but I’m glad he passed on his own. Both boys lived to be over 2 years old.

The second picture is my first betta, Sherbert, the guy who made me fall in love with fishkeeping. I’m thinking of them both today with love and I’m filled with so much sadness. These pets are so incredibly special and I’m so glad that I took a chance on this hobby. I’ve learned so much from Reddit and I’m really grateful to this community.

Does anyone have any suggestions for burial for my little guy? I buried Sherbert in the backyard because he died in the spring, but it’s the dead of winter in Canada and I want to give Rocket a nice sendoff.

I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️‍🩹 They were both beautiful. It’s hard losing fish, I always got so connected to mine. I’m not really sure about a burial, I think all my boys have passed in spring or summer. I hope you find a good way to send him off though!
