I just used chatgpt (for image 2) to try and see if I should add Micranthemum "monte carlo", to the base of my half moon betta tank. What do you think? Should I add it or keep it how it is?

In my personal taste, I think that everyone should not have any visible soil in their tank. If you could, mixing monte carlo with other plants with blade-shaped leaves would look better for an island style scape.

  2. Monte carlo is a very good looking carpeting plant, but it takes much longer to acclimate after planting. Also, thick monte carlo carpets want to float and can actually rip itself out of the substrate

  3. I love montecarlo. But you probably should get CO2 then. These think bottom carpets just profit so mich from it. It is possible without tho.

More plants the better for water quality. I have some Monte Carlo and it’s not carpeted like that, but I don’t have CO2. It’s growing well but more up than outwards, really long bits.

On the other hand, I also have hair grass and that is spreading like garden grass, it’s just popping up everywhere. It’s just slow. Maybe with CO2 it would grow a lot faster.

Go with a carpet plant for sure though
