After some months and now feeling confident I’ve added plants.

20gal long. 40gal rated sponge filter with a bubble disc because my snails like to play in the bubbles. A couple of amazon sword plants, 2 Java ferns, 1 Anubia I can’t remember the exact one and red root floaters.

Current fish: Betta, 1 adult mystery and 4 of her babies. 1 is being adopted.

Little story I wanted to tell. In the beginning I only had the betta (Bobo is his name). In a little 5 gal with a hang over filter and fake plants it was a start. Had a scare a few times with fin rot and maybe dropsy but idk. Lots of medication and time and he recovered. Upgraded to 10 gal with the same stuff but now a sponge filter. Then added a snail. Turns out the snail is a she and laid eggs. Got lazy and didn’t throw the eggs away. Only a few survived. Upgraded to a 20gal, got a bigger filter, got rid of the fake plants and added real ones only after I learned the hard way with some other red root floaters. Now I’m confident I can care for these guys. Haven’t had any scares in sickness and I even see plenty of microorganisms throughout the tank now 🙂 if you got this far thanks for reading I’ve enjoyed my journey and learned a lot.
