Found this reel under the house. 20 years old at least I’m sure. Do I need to respool? Never used an overhead so tips appreciated. What are the two metal triangles with holes in picture? And when on a rod where does line come out of reel?

Thats a big reel . Those holes attach to a harness . I use a reel like that for sturgeon . Yes you should re spool it if its that pld . What you trying to catch .
The line comes out the top . Right where you see the line in the Pic. Take it to a shop to get it respooled.
Yes, respool if you have line that old. You’ll probably have to open it up and at least lubricate the bearings, if not replace some.
The triangles on top are called lugs – they’re for clipping into a harness, or a leash when trolling for extra security.
This is a right-handed lever drag reel- the line would come out in the direction of the far corner of your table in the picture
