I managed to pick up some instant baby brine shrimp 🙂 I think it’s eating!

A few questions : How often am I meant to be feeding it? Google says 3-4x a day but the aquarium shop near me says once a day.

I also picked up some sera bio nitrivec and added it to the water as it’s barely half way through the cycle and I’m worried that’ll kill the fry.

How often do I do water changes? and should I be dosing nitrivec more than once a week?

Anything else I need to know? pls help 🥲

  1. How many fry do you have. Are they alone, any adult fish with them.
Feeding in very small amounts 2 to 3 times like a dust amount from a small artist paint brush.
Small fry die from starvation. Overfeeding will foul the water and that is probably worst.
It’s getting the balance feed, do gravel vac and water change daily for optimal conditions.

  2. You need to change the water to get rid of fish poop. Fish this small don’t produce much poop, so you don’t really need to water change tbh. Especially with all the plant and stuff you’ve got going on.

You can feed them small amounts 3x daily or kinda dump it in 1x daily. More frequent feeding means more consistent digestion, and faster growth, but they’ll most likely survive just fine on occasional feeds. I’d probably do morning and night, 12 hours apart.

Try not to disturb the water much. Fry are delicate, and will do better in “good” water with no fussing, than they would in “perfect” water that you touch a lot. Be patient and trust in nature.
