I'm certainly a frugal person but this was definitely an impulse buy. The marketing got me for a sealed, all aluminum body in a 5k series for the price.. Truly for $30 how bad can it be for SoCal surf fishing or from a kayak? Anybody have any experience with these, good or bad?
Worst case scenario, see how long it lasts and if it doesn't, see how well the 1-year manufacture warranty holds up? I even got the extended 2-year warranty for $3 đ«Ł

I donât buy cheap fishing gear period. I donât have enough time to fish and when I do have time I want my gear to 100% work 100% of the time.
Absolutely no way I would want to be out in a kayak and have my gear fail, ruining my day, because I wouldnât spend an extra couple of bucks.
Always wondered why do people buy such crappy things?
