Too shallow, or spawn heaven?

This is a spot in West Michigan, a spot on Pickerel Lake, which is part of the Chain of Lakes. Accessible year around, and has all the fish you'd expect.

I'm Interested in this channel? Bay? I dunno what it qualifies as, but does it look too shallow, or is this the kind of place you'd expect bass to gather during the spawning season?

What kind of habits should I expect from the way the area meets the lake (a massive drop off)?
