After the passing of my sweet baby Captain, I didn’t know if I could ever get another betta because I felt like I’d be replacing him 🙁 The tank has felt so empty without him (much love for my shrimpies and snail but it’s just not the same). Yesterday I went to my local pet store for more snail food and came across this little guy. I spent the rest of the night thinking about him and decided to go back today to bring him home. He seems so happy exploring his 20 gallon after being in pet store jail. He’s already so beautiful, I can’t wait to see his transformation. I’ll be going back for new plants soon but I’m so excited to welcome him to our little aquatic family 🤍 (Here’s to hoping he views the shrimp as friends and not food. He seems to be doing well with them so far!!)

i feel like his first photo didn’t do him justice so here’s an updated pic! i’ll be swapping the gravel out for substrate and making this a fully planted tank for him soon, i just want to give him a few weeks to settle in so i don’t add extra stress. for now he’s got silk plants since i honestly didn’t think i’d ever be getting another betta
