130mm = ~5.1 inches (just over 5”)
180mm = ~7.1 inches (right at 7”)
Both are clockwise drill bits with fresh blades.
The 5” class (130mm) seems ideal for:
Panfish
Perch
Smaller walleys
Lighter, more mobile setups
Drilling a ton of holes without gassing yourself
The 7” class (180mm) feels like the sweet spot if you’re targeting:
Bigger walleye
Pike
Lake trout
Running larger transducers or underwater cameras
Just wanting that extra margin landing fish
The difference between 5” and 7” doesn’t sound huge on paper, but on the ice it definitely changes your approach. Curious what most of you are running this season are you sticking with 6–7” for versatility, or downsizing to stay mobile and drill faster?
I do have these listed on eBay right now with adapters also available 🧊 🎣
