I just ordered a Daiwa Presso 5'6" UL 4 piece rod. I have a bunch of 1000 size reels I could slap on it but I was thinking maybe a 500 would be better? Can I get some suggestions (under $75-$100) for 500 size reels to pair up with this rod? This will be my backpacking setup so I would like to go as light as possible, every oz counts. Thanks 🙏👍

Have that rod. Either 1000 or 2500 works well. Can’t speak to a 500.
1000 or 1500 would be my goto. I have a 20 year old Daiwa 1000 that is still running with my 30 year old Shimano UL rod. Buy a bit more expensive and they’ll carry you for decades.
I use a 500 on my 5ft micro series but had it on a 6ft travel rod I got off aliexpress and it was great! I had the the piscifun viper x
