I know it’s controversial, but Cholula seems very happy in here! Tank established for ~5 months with a heater, sponge filter, lid, and stocked with cherry shrimp culls and ramshorn snails before adding her. It’s so fun to watch her hunt the baby shrimp and microfauna. With abundant plants and frequent small water changes I am confident in this setup, but I do plan to upgrade when I can afford the tank I want (~7 gallon long/ shallow). Just want to show it can be done with care 🙂

It can be a hot take for sure, but personally a healthy, planted, cycled tank is better than nothing at all! I’ll always recommend at least 5 gals, but so far you’re doing great!

I think it looks great. A living tank, and obviously enough space for her to enjoy her natural hunting behaviours. As long as she seems happy, I wouldn’t interfere.
