Sorta a newb to baitcasters… how do you stop braid bite?
50lb braid. Every other time I cast i find out the braid tightened itself 10 feet down the spool and it stops the line. If I loosen the brakes I get a birdsnest. If I tighten it falls short.

Maybe the braid wasn’t tight enough when you first spooled. Pull off a bunch of line and reel it back on tightly. It should help.

The braid was spooled too loosely. Tighten it up and you’ll be good to go.

Thick braid, light lure.
Braid gets loose during the cast and then overlaps itself as well.
