Both of them will hold it easily but the second one looks better and sturdier. And you can also hide extra stuff on those cabinets.

There’s a lot of overly cautious people in this sub, personally I would use either of them, but would prefer the second one. If you are worried, you can always set it up outside or in your garage for a week to make sure it holds.

Oh man, that first one brings back memories! My parents had that same kind in our family room back in the 80s. If it’s anything like I remember, it’s likely very sturdy and could handle a 55 gallon.

Both look good based on what we can see. Just pick the one that works best for your decor and human factors.
I think the first one is more attractive and more interesting, but I wouldn’t want a tank that low. But if you do, it would look awesome.
