I feed my betta Fluval Bug bites and they seem to be staining the white rocks. Is this normal? Does it mean I’m feeding him too much? I clean the tank every week or every other week but the rocks are stained…

White rocks in an aquarium will never stay clean, but depending on your tank you could get something that would eat that’s stuff and clean it.
How much are you feeding him?
You’re not supposed to have food sitting at the bottom of a tank. That definitely means you’re overfeeding. Feed pellet by pellet as the fish eats, dont drop whole pinches that will get lost and rot.
But that looks like algae rather than food. How big is the tank? How do you clean it?
Most likely over feeding, it’s flakes so harder to tell an exact amount you use but feed a smaller amount when you do, not saying to under feed your betta but if you have to give less amount maybe 2 times a day. I use omega pellets for mine with meal worms as a treat. I feed my betta once a day. Also naturally it’s a fish tank, it will get duty. That you cannot avoid. No matter how correct I feed mine and do all I should my tank will start to look slightly messy after so much time passes its just the process of an enclosed body of water holding life.
Also I recommend diving into bettas natural environment and how to have an enriched tank for them, they need a lot of hiding spots and live plants. It’s a lot to learn and go through but myself I’m only 8 or so month into my betta and have done so much to give him the best tank I can. I started my tank the same way as you just do a lot of research and you’ll get a longer life out of your pal.
