So far , how are we doing?

My friend and I talked to a guy by the lake who convinced us to get fishing licenses. So here we are.

I've talked to different locals and plan to get a guide to take me out, eventually. On our first day, my friend and I tried anchovies as bait but those kept falling off and made me and my car smell pretty bad.

So I will mainly fish small and large mouth bass and catfish. I bought some chicken liver for the catfish.

Does this look like a good start? Am I missing something? Maybe bobbers? I'll be fishing in Southern NV.
