Hey, long time listener, first time caller.
I've had an interest in keeping native fish here in my aquarium and wanted to explore the legalities of it. Despite ongoing searches of reddit, google, and wildlife acts, I could not find an easy answer. I ended up calling/emailing the MNR and have finally got an answer to whether or not you can keep native fish in Ontario that aren't baitfish. Good news! As long as it's for your personal aquarium and you have the receipt/bill of sale for the fish, you're good!
Hopefully, this helps anyone with a similar interest in a North american setup.

Sure, but it sounds like I couldn’t catch a perch and keep that at home since it is a game fish?
Heads up too…there is at least one endangered minnow in Ontario….so I assume you can’t take one of those home…
