If this was your first cast, things can only get better. If you can pull your line out, do so, then tie it to something stationary, walk it out and reel back in with tension on the line (a slight bend in your rod). Find someone with bait caster experience and ask for help. Show them this picture and they will know you need it. Keep fishing and hope things improve.
