I’m guilty of being the Dad who spontaneously bought a betta for his kid thinking “it’s just a fish”… and then he started looking ROUGH. Like brink of death rough. So fast forward and I’m actively learning how to provide the best care to this fish who has somehow swam his way in to my heart, I felt like I owed him SO MUCH BETTER. So, I but the bullet, bought a new separate tank and added dragon stone, sand and fluval plant substrate, java ferns, amazon swords and anubias plants. Did the Dr. Tim’s One and Only with ammonia fishless cycle and added a sponge, ceramic rings and carbonless filter media to his filter. I bought a baffle for his filter to keep the flow low, I’ll likely grab an air stone and air pump soon. So now we’re 2-4 days away from my tank being cycled and putting him in to his new home… how’d I do?

Amazing 🤩
Does it have a heater ? If not that’s important and also buy a api master water testing kit and ur in there like swim wear lmao 🤣 stupid joke but nice job ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this is so awesome to see!! just a note for the java ferns and anubias in case you don’t already know, but these plants have rhizomes and the rhizomes cannot be buried in the substrate! they do best attached to decorations or wedged in wherever they can fit.
