I haven’t done much carp fishing since moving to the coast but it’s fun so I want to get back into it. I dusted off my old carp gear, ended up saving the blank with this small catfish.

Durban South Africa isn't a huge carp fishing area because the ocean is right there so most people fish saltwater including me. There are big carp in dams nearby though, they seem to love the warm weather and I've always enjoyed fishing for them. When I stayed in Johannesburg they were my main target. I dusted off my pod, alarms and carp rods, bought three budget baitrunners and some terminal tackle and headed to a little urban lake about 20 minutes away. It's small but has some very nice sized carp in it. They didn't want to play ball but I saved the blank with this small catfish. I now know for sure catfish eat molasses flavoured chick peas.
