I have just started using the drop shot rig. Never really been a fan of finesse fishing. I just don't have the patience. I like throwing big lures, on heavy power equipment. Mostly top water. A few casts in an area, and move on. This winter I decided to try it. I have been absolutely crushing the dinks. Last week I caught around 30 in about 10 hrs of fishing. That includes this 2.95 lber. This week it was 15 in about 3 hrs. One was 2.20 lbs. A few appear to have been spawning. So, that's a good sign that it's time to get out the heavy stuff again. I can't wait for some nice top water blowups.

Stick with it man it works well. Ive been using for probably close to 20 years now. You can drop shot alot of different lures. What were you using to catch that one?
