I got shelly in early-mid october of 2025 and recently i’ve been noticing she looks a little bit bigger, has a darker patch on her underside, and she’s been spending a lot more time at the bottom of her tank. She is my first ever fish so I’m worried that I’m doing something wrong and she’s getting sick.
She is in a planted 10 gallon fully cycled tank. I do a 30% water change every sunday and dechlorinate with sea chem prime. i dose my tank once a week with sea chem flourish. i feed her 5 Hikari betta bio-gold pellets and i fast her on fridays. when i first got her i started out with only giving her 3 each day but she still constantly seemed hungry.

1st two photos are from yesterday.
3rd from about a month ago
4th from 2-3 months ago
and the last 2 are within the first week i got her.

hi! it looks like shelly has a fin clamp. Good news is that it is easy to treat with tannins. bad news is that you have to be diligent in water changes. good luck!
