I work at a pet store, as a dog groomer so I’m not with the fish often. Tell me more about this betta. Just arrived today, first photo is straight out of the bag, second is a few hours later. Some sort of GloBetta hybrid? Are the stripes her colouring or stress stripes? Does the being green/glo/green eyes make her more likely to be unhealthy? I’m just fascinated by her

Glo-hybrid. Looks like stress stripes. The hybrids tend to much healthier than the original globetta. Sometimes the glow coloration can get covered up over time by darker colors, but that can also look really cool too. Hard to predict.
I would jump- she’s really cool. The short tail fin tells me she’s an active fish, probably a good jumper. I’d do a cheap 10 gallon with a lid, but a 5 would be fine.
She’s probably just stressed from water quality or being able to see too many other fish, even their reflection can stress them out. She looks pretty healthy otherwise.
She does have the GFP gene, which is what makes globettas. While the gene appears to be visible in the eyes, I’ve not had one that I would consider blind (mine have all appeared to be seeing normal), though I don’t believe there have been any studies done on how the eyes are affected.
It’s rlly interesting just how many globettas slipped through the cracks and now we get cool hybrids like this pretty gal.
