Hello, this is my first time buying cichlids or any agressive fish in general, i purchased a pair so i can better understand their behavior. I need advice on how to take care of them, the male seemed to continuously chase,harass the female despite the cave and cover, i seperated the female in a jar in the tank as he could see her but not reach her, how long should i seperate them? And are they mature? Any advice would me much appreciated, thank you all so much in advance ☺️

First thing is that tank is wayy too small. I’d estimate from the looks of it, tank is abt 5-10 gallons. You’ll eventually need 30+ gallons, ideally 40-55.
Second thing is that the fish are still very young. They will grow up to abt 10cm, some up to 15cm. Based on the vid they seem arnd 4-5cm which would be the size they’re sold.
Third is you actually have a polar blue and a platinum polar blue. And given their young age i’m quite skeptical if you even sexed them right, but i’m not too sure abt this
That tank looks super small for them, she doesn’t really have anywhere to get away from him. It would probably be a good idea to either return one or get a tank at *least* twice that size, 30 gallons is the recommended minimum for 1-2 of them
